I have written the following, can you kindly correct me.

"‘Musharraf has resigned’, this is the headline that I read on BBC website the other day. My attention was immediately drawn to this and I clicked my mouse to listen to his resignation speech. At the same time, my thought was he has succumbed to the pressure. Pressure most likely to be from people of his inner circle or people close to him and working with him. I listened to his resignation speech and was very disappointed. He was in affectively asking forgiveness and leniency from what he may have thought, and also other, that he would be prosecuted - persecuted may be the right word. This was a betrayal to his believe and philosophy, although he has set a precedent by resigning which never happened in Pakistan politic. I have to give him credits on three grounds, one, although other may argue against it, he did not kill Nawahariff when he toppled him ten years’ ago. Secondly, he has, so far, shown his pluralism and managed to keep Pakistan away from becoming a religious extremism country. Thirdly, he has managed to strike a ‘semi’-peace deal with India on Kashmir. I am sure, although I sincerely hope I am wrong, he will still be prosecuted even after he resigns from his post as the President of Pakistan. I am not a Pakistani but interested in Pakistan politic since the famous late ‘Banazir Bhutto’ was assassinated last December."

Hi.
I read the first page of this topic. I think I'm ready to exprience these 30 days.
Quote:
write a short summary of your listening experience and progress. Here you should tell us what you have listened to, how much you have understood and what keywords you remember.

I listened to " Tactics for listening - DEVELOPING - by Jack C. Richards" It was piece
of a cake ! Also I listen to BBC Prime Every day. It's actually difficult to me. perhaps I understand 2 or 3 words per sentence. But some conversation in it is less difficult to me and at last I can find the general summary. I hope this introduction is enough.
I'll wait for your answer and audio liberary.

Hi,

I've made some amendments in CAPITALS:

Musharraf has resigned’ This is the headline that I read on THE BBC website the other day. My attention was immediately drawn to this and I clicked ON my mouse to listen to his resignation speech. At the same time, my thought was he has succumbed to pressure. THE pressure HAS most likely COME from people of his inner circle or people close to him and working with him. I listened to his resignation speech and was very disappointed. He was in EFFECT asking forgiveness and leniency FOR what he may have thought, and also other??, that he would be prosecuted - persecuted may be the right word. This was a betrayal OF his BELIEFS and philosophy, although he has set a precedent by resigning, which HAS never happened in Pakistan POLITICS. I have to give him credit on three COUNTS, one, although otherS may argue against it, he did not kill Nawahariff when he toppled him ten years ago. I am not a Pakistani but HAVE BEEN interested in Pakistan POLITICS since the famous late ‘Banazir Bhutto’ was assassinated last December."

Thanks Alan - really appreciate it. Another question I want to ask is - I've always been told that to learn English, you have to learn how to think like englishman. Is that correct? If it's so, does my writting fall into or under that line?

I have written these and would appreciate if anyone can correct my mistake and make comment on my mistake

I watched the 3-part documentary made by Richard Dawkins, the famous Professor from Oxford University, called ‘The Genius of Charles Darwin’. This programme is really well made and I think every child as well as parents should watch it. Although I can not claim myself Richard’s fan, I do agree him on a lot of what he said in that documentary film. His presentation skill is impeccable and so does his ability to phrase and use English language beautifully. His interview to the Archbishop of Canterbury Dr William was fascinating. When I read in the news that both US presidential candidates John McCain and Barack Obama went to woo US Christian, I thought the founding fathers of the USA would have been appalled if they had seen what the American presidential candidates are selling out their liberal spirit and hard-won liberty to religious groups to win votes. When I watched that documentary, I was also equally shocked by the ignorance to Science by those who hold high power. While we are saying we should fight Islamic fanatic, should we say we should fight religious doctrination in any shape or form instead?

Hi David,
I agree with you. Some people say that in order to use the Engish language in a good way, you have to think like an English man.
But that will be a little bit difficult, because of the differences between the cultures of every country. The culture of the English people makes them think in a different way rather than any other people in the world and vice versa.
So, what you need is not to put your own mother tongue in your mind and then translate it into English cause that will confuses you, just think in English and speak in English.

Regards,
Nola

Hello Torsten

I am going to write a summary about a Text that i readed yesterday.

Blue Sky

Blue Sky is a travel company which specializes in adventure holiday such as backpacking in australia or snowboarding in the alps. Blue Sky has a five full time staff including 3 employees, Kate and Michael King who manage the company.
One of the employees runs the Blue Sky homepage and the other 2 employees help Kate to look up customers who call at the company. On the website was only for advertising those holidays but now Michael want also to sell holidays on its website and so is a huge amount of work for the employee that run the website.
Things are going so well that the company has nowadays problems to find staff in booming London. There are simply more jobs then peoples to fill them especially in IT.

So that was a summary about the Text of Blue Sky that is on my school book.

Torsten Please correct my mistakes

I am looking forward to hear from you

Thanks

Hello Torsten and everybody on this Forum

I am going to write a summary about a Text that i readed yesterday.

John Bartons Complaint

John Barton is a person who booked a 16-day adventure holiday at Blue Sky last March. He was very satisfied with the friendly staff in Fullham but he was really unsatisfied with the hotel in Winnipeg,Canada. Because he sleeped in a hotel near the airport and so he could not sleep because truck were racing and planes were taking off all the night. On the 2nd day he nearly missed the bus because he was not looking for a rusty bus. When he was loading his canoe, two big groups of people arrived, he thought that his place in the solitude would be a bit crowded. Their Canadian guides were friendly but said they did not take any responsibility about mistakes in the catalogue. After the holiday John Barton wrote a coplaint to the company.
