Hi Everyone I think Mr. Torsten's advice is well worth following, as even when one listen to a foreign language without understanding it, he gets used to this language and so after some time this language becomes closer to him, and in this way he begins to study it. I'm glad to mention that I'm very fond of watching films in English and I feel that it's helping me, now I'll follow Mr. Torsten's advice and will listen to English more. Tanks very much!!!!!!!!!    |

Hi everyone I couldn`t keep track with the news because I just arrived in India. You know my country is Madagascar but I`m here to study English at Osmania University Hyderabad during three mounths. I`m a new comer here so no bbc no voa for me. Even though I like practicing english on this forum. Here I must speak english every day so I hope that my english will be improved after the end of my course. Next time I`ll check the news on the Internet so I can repport them both to Torsten and to the english learners on this website. Okay! that`s all I have to say. Jose |

Now ,I stick to remembering some words and listening bbc,voa in my daily life. When I listen to the audio files ,I try my best to have a dictation about them. At first ,It is really difficult to me,.gradually , it works extremely effective. You can have a try. It is hard in the beginningm, but extraordinary in the end . |

Hi Torsten! I`m really disappointed because as I said, I study English here in India now but what happened to me? I had a test on Friday September 18 ,2009. I was really so slow during my test so I couldn`t finish all the exercises. Consequently my score has been so so and I have been classified on Intermmediate Level. I`m very sad but I don`t know what to do because I must continue the Course untill the end. News, Obama talked about climate change. Thank you Jose |

Mr. Torsten, I have finished to read what different people are telling about how improve english language. I need to tell you that when I tray to write you I feel embarrass. I know that I always make a mistake and I wondered if one day I could do it well. I don't drive becouse I had a car accident once in my life and I promised me that it had been the last day. Here in Argentine we can listening to BBC in the morning but I need to do a great effort to understand what they are talking about, they speak very fast for me. English language is my Challenge, but untill now always it is more stronger than me. I promise you to go ahead. How to know if I am improving my english? I hope one day you would tell me. I like reading you, is something that make feel well. I would like to write as you, if I could!!!!
Thanks you to help us Leonor |

Hi, I am overly convinced with the point of view of Mr. Torstan. The suggestions he rendered in order to improve communication skills are awesome. But I think four week time is not enough to have command over non-native language. Although, the technique he mentioned would help someone in a great deal to improve the ability. My point of view is that someone should hunker down into learning any non native language because it is a taxing job. It requires a lot of commitments to face the straights during learning process. We can not get some prolific results unless we indulge ourselves completely into learning process irrespective time and duration |

Hello,
Today I listened to 6 minutes English at BBC Learning English. The subject is about Digital Divide which means the gab between people who get access to the web and those with limited or no access at all. The report said that although having access to the web have become as necessary as water and electricity, many people can not or do not want to get online for many reasons. One of these reasons is they are not interested in internet or they do not have enough time. Another reason is that they said that the internet is not relevant to their lives and it is also too expensive to use it. Government is worried about this issue. So, they hired a person to encourage people to change their online habits by saying that the internet gives them the freedom to run their lives and they are also missing a lot of interesting things by being away from internet.
Many thanks, Meera |
