More seriously, If I were to write an essay on this subject....

I think I would like to be an adviser to the President of the United States. The President of the United States influences the world policies and economies. It is a great responsibility to advise someone who has that much impact. Although there are many other heads of state that the world respects, it has been the United States which is often seems to intervene in world affairs.
The first issue I would advise would be the current world economic crises. If the US and world economies continue to contract, it is only a matter of time before many countries will be affected by food and other shortages. The inability to address such shortages will cause unrest and possibly encourage the acts of terrorism. America needs to create more jobs - why not have them work on farms producing food which is needed. I think that America has much land which could be used to grow the basic staple foods, the export of this food would help offset the trade imbalance that has occurred between the US and the countries the US owes. Those countries can then use the food to help developing nations. The US would also be able to support the allies of their choice with low cost food.
The second issue is on World affairs; My attitude is," if you don't want someone telling you how to run your government, then do not interfere in theirs." It is true some places need peace keeping but the request has to come from a majority of the people in that country, not a small group. The US is now involved in a war in which it is only being used by the differing factions to try to position their group over the others. I can not see how it will work out unless the people of the country really want peace. Unfortunately, having interfered there is a world wide feeling that the US must somehow "fix" the problem, but of course they can't. It will take the people of the country itself to find the right leadership - even if the rest of the world doesn't like it.
You may notice I have not specified which countries... this is because there are many affected by "The war on Drugs", "The war on Terrorism" and "the Human rights abuse". In all cases, the US needs to address its internal issues openly and directly, and only advice or aid others when requested.
