Amcham experience? #1 (permalink) Tue Jul 04, 2006 16:09 pm   Amcham experience?

Hi, does anyone of you have any experience with on the Amchams? (one of the American Chambers of Commerce). I'm referring to the organizations that operate outside of the US in order to promote international business activities.

For example, you might be working for a company that is a member of the local Amcham in your country. I'm asking because in comparison with the German Chamber of Commerce the Amchams seem to be much more active and creative when it comes to setting up and maintaining a business infrastructure abroad. They also are experts in social networking and they bring their culture and values to other countries.

Why are the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of other countries so slow and inefficient? I have one particular country in mind where the Amcham is much more active and successful than their German or British counterparts.

Any ideas on this?
Regards,
Torsten
