A chat is an informal talk about private issues. You can have a chat with your friends - actors perform dialogues.

I had been choosing between ''dialogue" and "conversation" options for a long time and finally chose the "dialogue" though I can't understand why it cannot be "conversation".
And one moment else: as it in Russian language, the "dialogue" usually is a conversation between two collocutors and in the sentence the conversation might be between more than two personages.

dialogue is specifically used when referring to a conversation between two people which takes place with a play.
It's not a true conversation because the words are written and learned as part of the script.

Although dialogue also has a wider meaning, it is the correct term for a two person speech in a play, film, etc.
