Hi all

If someone has a short memory, how best can you solve it?
That is if someone can't remember valuable information for so long as needed.

I want your advice.

thank you. Smile

Hi mnd,

Do you mean that someone Smile can’t remember valuable information for so long, as needed Smile (or as an "average man can" (...must, have to and should" Laughing))? (forgetting facts, terms, etc. tooooo quickly)?

If so, on the Internet there are lots of various techniques ‘how to improve your memory’. Smile
Just google.

Tamara

I know that there is science that deals with methods of improving one's memory. In Russian it's called эйдетика, Tamara, but I don't know the English variant of it. Maybe, eudetics(bit it's just my supposition)

Hi Pamela!

It comes from 'Eidos' (Greek?) but I don't know the right English word for it. Sad

In my understanding, it's not science. Just a doctrine that is supported by some 'techniques'.

Memory Training #5 (permalink) Fri Jun 13, 2008 0:39 am   Memory Training

Hello.

There are several products to help train memory. This new one is based on proven research that was written about in the NY Times. It is challenging, but very effective for all kinds of tests, not just SAT... IQtesttraining.com

Highly recommended (takes just half hour per day for 20 days!)

How exactly does purchasing your program help improve my memory capabilities? There are lots of other ways to use and train my mind and memory. For example, I can read an article and discuss its ideas with other people. Would that train my memory too?

Hi, Torsten.

Good question! The idea behind this method is that the training is intense and carefully designed to exercise working memory by presenting a series of symbols and sounds that the person has to process and recall in real time.

The software stretches and strengthens these capacities, gradually working them harder. It is similar to going to the gym to exercise your muscles. Whereas reading and discussion would be like a long stroll.

I hope this helps. The site has examples and references to the research study report.
