There are a lot of set phrase that require the verb to make such as

- make a desicion (make up one's mind)
- make a mistake
- make a proposal
- make an attempt
- make suggestion
- make a fool of oneself
- make a face
- make a phone call

For more information on make/do please read Alan's story here:

According to Babylon dictionary, to make a face means to grimace, to distort one's face. Hope this helps!

They all need full stops and one needs a capital letter.
Note the spelling of 'their'.

This sentence:
I make up my family to do meditation' is not correct use of 'make up'.
