To acclimatize/to harmonise #2 (permalink) Thu Jul 27, 2006 21:10 pm   To acclimatize/to harmonise

To acclimatize is to make something or someone used to a new climate or a new way of living: it is difficult for some people to become acclimatized to living in hot countries/to working at night.

To harmonise/harmonize is to agree or be suitable together: some colours harmonise or look well together; sadly, people from very different cultures often don't harmonise with each other.
