"does she has" versus "has she" Tue Aug 01, 2006 8:48 am  "does she has" versus "has she"

Can I start a question with does she has or with has she?

Are both of the correct and if yes, is there any difference between them?

Does she Tue Aug 01, 2006 9:31 am  Does she

Hi Attila,

You ask:

Can I start a question with does she has or with has she?

The simple answer is 'no'. If you want to use the interrogative form of 'have', it is either:

Has she?

or

Does she have?

Does she has or has she? Tue Aug 01, 2006 10:00 am  Does she has or has she?

Sorry, Alan

I meant does she have

(I sent a mail yesterday to a customer and I hesitated how to start. The sentence in my mail was following: Does she have a password to log on to the network?)

Is it any difference when I start with the above or with has she?

Hi Attila,

You sentence:

Quote:
Does she have a password to log on to the network?)
is fine.

Alternatively: Has she got a password ...? would be fine. A plain Has she...? would be better in conversation.
