Hi,

Could you please tell me the correct pronunciation of the word MONK?

Does it rhyme with sunk or conk?

Tom

PS: I have heard both.

Hi Tom,

I would rhyme monk with sunk as in monkey.

Thanks, Alan

I did not ask my question properly, as usual. Very Happy

Is the other pronunciation used also? Would it be considered correct... rhyming it with Conk?

Hi Tom,

I can only say how I would pronounce it. Your other suggestion of rhyming with conk sounds unusual to me.

Hi Tom

I've only ever heard one pronunciation for monk - the same one as Alan mentioned.
