Which or not which (This is the very book that I want) #1 (permalink) Wed Aug 02, 2006 12:22 pm   Which or not which (This is the very book that I want)

Please read:

a.This is the very book which I want.
b.This is the very book that I want.

If I don't want remove "which" and "that", these 2 sentences are still correct in grammar?

Thanks

Hi Van Khanh,

I feel that 'that is the better choice here. We use that after superlatives as in: That's the best book that you can read and you could say the very has the same flavour.
