Dart vs shoot vs nip #1 (permalink) Thu Aug 03, 2006 2:58 am   Dart vs shoot vs nip

Please read:

a. A dog darted across the road.
b. A plane shot across the sky.
c. He's just nipped out to the bank.

Can "dart", "shoot", "nip" be interchangeable in these 3 sentences? If not, please explain the difference in meaning of the 3 verbs?

Thanks
