Expression: Was it a pigeon that fell... #1 (permalink) Sun Aug 06, 2006 19:04 pm   Expression: Was it a pigeon that fell...

Hello everybody

Could you please tell me if there is any expression like:

...pigeon fell or the statue?

In fact, recently I was seeing an American movie in which the hero said to the heroine at the end of a conversation.

...so was it the pigeon that fell or the statue?

Since the conversation was not about pigeons or statues, I assume it to be some fixed phrase. Do we agree? :(

Please do tell me anything if you know about the phrase and when it is used.

Waiting Tom

.
That's not a fixed expression, Tom. What was the context? What movie was it?
