Hi Khahn

There's really not much difference in meaning in this context. In this case it's more a matter of your personal interpretation/usage of the verb call:

1. "(I'm) just calling" --> you're looking at the verb call as the act of communicating on the phone (and that activity is currently in progress).

2. "(I) just called" --> you're looking at the verb call as the act of dialing the phone number (and that is already finished)

You'll find both definitions in any good dictionary.

Amy

Hi Amy,

Please read:

"(I'm) just calling" --> you're looking at the verb call as the act of communicating on the phone (and that activity is currently in progress).

Why didn't you write "action"? What is the difference btw "act" and "action? Are they interchangeable?

Thanks
