1. I have seen her lately. This sentence would be better this way (for example): "I've seen her quite often lately." 2. I have seen her recently. OK 3. I haven’t seen her lately. OK 4. I haven’t seen her recently. OK 5. I didn’t see her as lately as last Sunday. What context did you have in mind? 6. I didn’t see her as recently as last Sunday. What context did you have in mind?
All are correct? If all are correct, please tell me what sentences are more usual? |

Hi,
1. I didn’t see her as lately as last Sunday. What context did you have in mind? 2. I didn’t see her as recently as last Sunday. What context did you have in mind?
Last Sunday, I saw her. From then to now, I haven't seen her any more.

That is definitely NOT what those two sentences mean.
"Last Sunday, I saw her. From then to now, I haven't seen her any more." = "I saw her last Sunday, but I haven't seen her since that day."

1. I didn’t see her as lately as last Sunday. 2. I didn’t see her as recently as last Sunday. |
The only possible meaning that these 2 sentences could have is: "I did not see her last Sunday. The last time I saw her was some time before last Sunday."

Hi Amy,
The use of "lately" and "recently" in:
I didn’t see her as lately as last Sunday.
and
I didn’t see her as recently as last Sunday.
are correct?
Thanks K |
