Hi there,

I thought that question-tags are made by adding the auxiliary verb of that sentence at the end of the sentence in the negative if the sentence is positive or vice versa plus of course the pronoun.

Please explain.

Hi,

What you say is right in most cases bearing in mind that the 'auxiliary' part is used in the interrogative form of the main verb. And that rule applies here in the sentence. Remember that 'didn't you?' refers back to 'you said'.
