What could be the American expression for "I shrink to think" here in America we say " I have no clue" is this more like " I don't know" or "No idea"
am I in the right track? is good to learn different idiomatic expressions, but my concern is to use it in the right way

It means that the teacher is giving you a task. Please note the correct spelling of the word 'assignment'.

Hi!
Thank you very much for replying so soon.
I,m very happy to know that you are originally an Arabic speaker. I don't want any kind of help but I request to you be my friend. Let me tell you that I,m not originally an Arabic speaker but I can speak perfectly. I want to be comfortable in both languages. It's my goal can you advise me something?
What is your response?
Tell me please.
مع السلامة

to "shrink" jokingly describes the physical reaction #118 (permalink) Tue Feb 16, 2010 0:14 am   to "shrink" jokingly describes the physical reaction

As I understand it, to "shrink" jokingly describes the physical reaction to the thought of something mentioned by the other person which is due to a feeling of embarrassment or uneasiness. Search results for this phrase seem to support this explanation:
"I shrink to think on the mass of sorrow I have brought upon my daughters."
"and I shrink to think what will be left of our futures and our children's economic futures if left ..."
