Hi,

'Shrink to think' suggests 'hesitate to think' in the sense of not daring to think about something. 'I don't think' is simply the negative form of 'I think'.

Hi,

'Dare' in its full negative form is 'I do not dare' but 'I dare not' is often used for dramatic effect.

Dear teachers;
Could you make some sentences with 'back', 'rear' and' hind’ separately?
In advance thanks a lot.

Hi Mitra,

Look at these: At the rear end of my garden at the back of the shed there is a dog standing on its hind legs trying to reach a branch of a tree.

Perhaps I shrink to think means I can not guess what you did last night.

Hello Alan,

It was interesting to read the people who put a word in the expression: "I shrink to think "
For Hungarian people this can seems a familiar expression because if I translate WBW it means the same.

Dear my Teachers,

Now I read my answer and I want to explain because I wrote this meaning is the same in Hungarian ? But what is it mean in Hungarian? For example: I drunk the previous night and I told secrets and next day I have remorse and I shrink to think what I did, I dare not to think of it. By choice to hide myself.
