Dear Authors of Interactive Free English Tests site,

I am writing to express my gratitude for higly interesting articles and very helpful tests.

My name is Jana Kravalova, 19, and I am a Czech student. I have been studying English for 7 years and since I am a self-student, I have already tried dozens of various techniques. I would like to react to the article "Learn with Babylon Pro" where you ask readers to share their ideas and suggestions.

As for learning the new vocabulary, apart from reading books and articles, which is mentioned in your article, I highly recommend that students not only look up the meaning of unknown word, but also try to find as many related words as possible. For example, when I was learning the verb "approve", I wrote down all the similar words, such as "approval, approved, disapprove, disapproval....." and of course, I remember the preposition "of" in connections with this verb. Thus, instead of learning one word, I remember more than 6 ones.

Or, you can create groups of words with opposite meanings, etc. It is always easier to remember groups of words or meanings.

I fully agree that there is no point in learning words just as they are, without context. That is why I always think up my own sentences, at least two or three ones.

The next thing I would like to mention is not to rely on only one source of information. Many people think they can learn English, or any language, just by reading one book or taking one course. I think the most important thing is to try as many techniques as possible - reading books, newspaper, etc.

Furthermore, what is very useful, is speaking to oneself, although it might sound absolutely crazy. When I am alone, I try to whisper in English, describe things around me, my feelings, etc. It helps you start to think in English.

To sum up, there are many suggestions I could add to this survey but I think everybody has to try plenty of ways how to study and choose the one which bests suits him.

Finally, I would like to thank you for the site, which I find very helpful and I wish you a lot of success.
