How fast is your internet connection? #1 (permalink) Fri Sep 01, 2006 20:58 pm   How fast is your internet connection?

Hi

In my neck of the woods, pathetic is not the word for net speed. Sometimes it is so slow that I feel like pulling my hair out...well, whatever is left of it!

What about Japan, Germany, Spain, England and all? Is it always very good? Do you ever get disconnected? Is it depressing?

I'm quite happy on Broadband. It's as fast as I want!

I think more and more people are getting access to fast and permanent internet connections. In a few years, the Internet will be as available as a normal phone connection is right now.

Today we are talking about broadband or high-speed internet. Very soon so called dial-up connections will we replaced by permanent ones and we won't even remember a time without them.

Net speed! #5 (permalink) Fri Sep 01, 2006 22:00 pm   Net speed!

.
I've been attempting to get a high speed connection for years. The phone company FINALLY informed me a couple weeks ago that it's now available for my house.

They've already changed me over and sent me all the "easy-to-install" equipment I supposedly need, but it doesn't work. I can't connect it because the wiring in my house is not right. (Note: new house and Telekom also did the original connection!) So, I still have only the slower connection.

Telekom can't send anyone to wire things for weeks. So, on Sunday, a friend of mine is coming to the house to size up the situation. He wired his whole house, so he should be able to figure out how to do things here....

Hi Amy, please do keep us posted on your Internet situation as you spend so much time online answering forum questions. It really would be good for and us if you had a permanent Internet connection. If DSL should not work for you for whatever reason, you might want to consider getting a UMTS card...
