Hi,

I have 2 program codes and first I try with the short then with the long and then with the short and so on.

How to say it?

I use the codes by turns.
I use the codes alternately.
I take turns at doing the codes

Could you say what would happen with the meaning (whether it changes) if I use alternatively instead of alternately?

If you used these things, alternatively, that means you used them istead of some other things.
