Hi,

Why in (1), ..treatments are... but not are the treatments.....
Why in (2), ..is the best thing ... but not the best thing is.....

Is there a rule? Why 2 sentences with 2 structures different?

Dear teacher,

Please read:

What do you think the best treatments are for each problem? (1)

(1) is correct? Or I have to write as follows:

What do you think are the best treatments for each problem? (2)

I think (2) is correct , (1) is incorrect but (1) appeared in my grammar book. How about your opinion about (1)?
