If there were many books on the table and only one of them was yours, then it would be best to say "One of the books that are on the table is mine." _________________ "Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man's character, give him power." ~ Abraham Lincoln |

Thanks teacher.
Please read: " If there were many books on the table and only one of them was yours, then it would be best to say "One of the books that are on the table is mine."
I I dont want to say:One of the books that are on the table is mine.
and I say:
A book that is on the table is mine. (2)
In the mentioned situation, (2) is correct in grammar?

I Quoc,
Please read the explanation that you copied and pasted above again. It contains the answer to your question. Also, why don't you want to follow the rule described in your own explanation?
