Hi,

I've got the below question from an on-line test. However, answer "C" has been mentioned to be the right one.
Do you agree?

The Question:
Not only ..... to London but she also visited many other places in England.

A - she went
B - went she
C - did she go

It sounds really odd to say: Not only did she go to ... but...

.
Hi Fooz

Yes, C is correct.

When a sentence begins with "Not only" it is followed by inverted word order, i.e., the same word order as for a question. With the simple present or the simple past tense that means you need to use do + base form of the verb --- just as you do when you build a question.

It sounds excellent to me. ;)
