Negative statements

You need: a personal pronoun
the verb 'to do'
not
the infinitive

Example: You do not go.
There is also a short form: You don't go.

Be careful: The short form is mostly used in spoken language: 'do not'--> 'don't'
'does not'--> 'doesn't'
In written language please employ the 'long form'.

I do not speak Spanish.
You do not write poems.
He does not work.
She does not like coffee.
It does not drink milk.
We do not take the train.
You do not use this.
They do not say good morning.

:) How about you? Can you build negative statements? Write down a few sentences.

By the way, in Unit 10 we are going to review the question words.

I do not work in sunday.

He does not go to Temple.

We do not prepare the Lunch.

Please any clearification send to my mail id saravana.pn@gmail.com

Hi Lyalya,

Many thanks for your suggestion. This section is called English for Beginners and it clearly takes some practice to get to the conditionals. That's why Sunny is concentrating on covering the basic grammar points.

Hi! everybody. I'm going to write a paragraph includes some negative statement to practice my writing skills. So, please check me. Thanks
My name's Van. I'm from Vietnam. I want to speak English as native people but I know that isn't easy. In 4 skills (speaking, writing, reading, listening) . Almost everyone thinks the speaking is the most difficult. But with me,the speaking isn't so difficult as the writing because my English grammar isn't good. I want to be a millionaire but I don't think I will marry a rich husband. I want to going to England to study MBA and my boyfriend stay there, but I don't because my English level isn't good and I haven't got enough money. But now I 'm improving my English skill everyday to gain a scholarship and save money to do it. I believe I can do it.
