I think every country has superstitious but could be contradictory each other, for examples superstitious to number 13 is believed by almost western countries, but for Chinese, it doesn't matter for 13, they avoid number 4 and they believe that number 8 is "lucky number". For me superstitious is ridiculous, we must be more rational.

No I am not superstitious at all. There are a lot of peple who are superstitious. They are superstitious about so many things like corssing the way of a black cat for them is a supersitition. One will wait for somebody to cross the road before him to overcome ( i dont know what word should i use here) that bad omen.Till then he waits.

Similarly spilling of milk , breaking of mirror, shivering of right eye muscle all are termed as supersititions, here in India.

Dear Torsten,
About question if I am superstitious. Iam not superstitious, because I only believe in God, he is the most important person in my live, he is life's owner, although in my country many people are superstitious, I think this is problem that have relation with culture or education.

I think you are talking about optimism and pessimism in something I'm not superstitious but in my country,most people when they see Corvus they know that the day will be very very bad ..also the funny part there're many people belief in if you buries Lizard under your house it'll brings luck to you..they think it's mascot.
Also many people wearing a blue bead in the neck to prevent envy and number 13 people expect it bring bad luck also (on Tuesday),But not everyone believes in this.

Sorry for replying so late. I was stuck with many problems. You had asked a question. "Are you superstitious". Here is my answers.

I am not at all superstitious as I believe whatever things occur around us. It is just because of us. Knowingly/unknowingly we do some mistakes which we ignored easily and when suddenly, something wrong happen to us, we get scared and go for astrologer to ask them why this is happening? This is really funny? I believe in god and hence, I feel whatever we do in our life God give us accordingly. That's all from my side and I am very exciting to read your comments on this.

I'm a little superstitious, I don't believe in that 13 thing, or that lie about the black cat and walking under a stair. Though, I do believe that if you broke a mirror or you don't pass an email to a certain amount of people (I don't know if is there any of those in United States, in Argentina at least is full of them ¬¬) you'll have bad luck for some time, or whatever.
I hate it.

Hello Torsten! Hello everybody,
I think there is nothing to be afraid of this number, nor date nor Friday 13th. Superstitions make the life more complicate and it is so hard to deal with all the problems when one has so many fears. In fact superstitions have disastruous effects on people and they become more dependent of circumstances instead of trying to overcome them.
I am so comforted to know that God does not control our lives and he isn't the sourse of troubles althogh he has enough power to do it. The comforting truth is that he enabled us with the right to choose the way we think is the best. I think superstitions, the luck, the fortune originate from fear but not from love of God.

So, I agree with Conchita: Let's try to think positively! Life is a gift from God a beautiful one, isn't it?

I like analysing events which happen in our life. So I can tell that I believe in a specific superstitions. If event can't be explain by materialistic or physical theory and happen regularly I think it's some of a reason to start believe into superstitions.
