Hi,
I have some sentences:

Would you mind if I closed the window?
No, that would be fine. (a)
Would you mind closing the window?
Not at all. I would be glad to. (b)

“Would” in (a) and (b) means……………Why "would" but not "is" or "am"?

in your examples?

Why not: That's fine.
I am glad to.

But: That would be fine.
I would glad to.

"Would" in (1) , (2) means.............

.
Would is used in polite language. The questions were asked politely (using would). And the responses simply reflect and continue the same degree of politeness (i.e., they also use would).

The same with "I say that you're right" and "I'd say that you're right"?

Hi,

In your example the use of would is putative in tone.
