hi torsten
i read the thread. i wish to join myself, to promote the writing skill. hope i can do my best. this is my first essay
presentation.
My topic is "About Character"
In a day today life we can meet so many peoples with different ideas, taste, mannerism and habits. Each person has his/her own character, in which they can stick themself and lead their life. No two individual has same thought or idea in all the actions. They can same in one action and looks opposite in another action. For example, if we consider two friends, those have entirely different traits, leads their relationship without any altercation.How they can? This is only because of the bond "Friendship" which unites them. If a person looking for another one who has same kind ,nature what he possess, then till his death he can't find anybody with same nature. So if you wish to get something definetly you have to lose something. There is no relationship with out bickering, but if we looking for a life with serenity, then we have to adjust. All the relationships runs only because of Love and Affection. So i conclude that Give and take policy is important to keep relationship.

Thanks. Now i understood difference between people Vs peoples.
In my essay i put many peoples(first line), is that correct? I ll tell my opinion here, i think it is wrong. Because i m using many, so in that many people is correct instead many peoples. Am i correct?

Yes Mom, people is the plural of person so people is the correct word in your case.

In my opinion (as it was taught by a favorite professor in J-school), good writing is verb-driven, rather than adjective driven.

Tell me which sounds cooler:

a) I am a person who is helpful, sincere and empathic.

or

b) I derive joy from bearing others' burdens and yielding sincere advice to help deliver them from their problems.

Both sentences say basically the same thing: this person listens to others, he cares about their problems, and he tries to help.

The first uses one verb: am

The second uses these: derive, bearing, yielding, deliver

I think studying for the essay sections is the hardest. I wrote an essay for one of the practice tests at mygretutor.com and after about 3 weeks the essay was graded and I got tons of comments, so that was helpful. If you donate some money then they grade your essay right away, but I'm not sure who exactly does the grading, but I know that I got several paragraphs worth of comments about my issue and arguments essay for the GRE, so that was awesome.
