Finished with each other #46 (permalink) Wed Oct 05, 2011 21:23 pm   Finished with each other

Hello,
Two phrasal verbs:
to end with sth ( and not sb)=to finish; to make sth finish
-Her note ended with the words " see you soon".

to finish with sb= to end a relationship with sb.
-She finished with her boyfriend last week.
-I've finished with him forever.
-To most people it seemed like a lomg successful relationship and so it was a great surprise that they had finished with each other.

I have to attach that I wrote these because somebody in p.m. asked me what is the difference between finish and end. Could I explain to him?-he asked me?
I did the tests again with lot of mistakes and I found out that I couldn't answer. So I read everything and after I began to understand - what is really very difficult for not a native learner than him and me also.

I replied to him and I quoted lot of things from these pages and looked through the phrasal verbs of to end and to finish. So while I explained I learned me also.

Many thanks for everybody.
