I have seen the verb "help" used in these two ways:
"he was helping him do the work"
or
"he was helping him to do the work"
also
"can you help Jhon find the car"

Help to vs. help + base verb Thu Nov 25, 2004 14:29 pm  Help to vs. help + base verb

Hi Richard,

Both versions are correct - you can use help + to + base verb or help + base verb.

There has been a tendency to shorten certain constructions and this is one of them.
