To sublet is to lease or let (a building/room) which you yourself rent: the flat I rent is too large so I want to sublet part of it.

To buy is to get by paying money: I bought three apples on my way home; he bought a car from my brother.

To employ is to give (someone) regular work: the factory employs forty-five technicians; he is employed as a bank clerk. To employ also means to use: you must not employ too much force.

To hire is to rent (pay money to use a car, house, etc.).
