Worried that Kaplan practice tests are giving wrong scores!

I worked through the GRE Exam Premier Program 2007 Edition.

I've been using the included CD. It has three practice tests (in the standard CAT form) included on the CD.

But, I'm afraid that I'm being given entirely inaccurate scores. I just finished a practice test and, on the math section, it says that I got in the 78th percentile (with a score of 700) even though I got a bunch of questions wrong! (I'm not sure how many questions -- but, more than a handful.)

Is it even *possible* to get a 700 on the math section (with a 78th percentile ranking) while getting so many questions wrong? This seems ridiculous.

I'm applying to a variety of the top Philosophy PhD programs. I'm content with my verbal practice scores for the most part. And, really, the math score won't matter too much (very few Phil programs care about math).

But, I'm a bit worried that the Kaplan CD is giving me misleading information. Is there a chance that I'm likely to get surprised by a 40th percentile on the math section, because Kaplan has been giving me incorrect scores?

Also, on a side note: although most of my verbal scores have been where I've expected, I recently received a 650 on a verbal practice section, although I only got 3-4 questions wrong. It said 650, 90th percentile.. but I got 26 or 27 out of 30. Is this normal?

i dunno about kaplan tests but use powerprep and princeton review tests 4 another view.
