1...I hadn't heard of despatched before but my dictionary tells me it is the British variant of dispatched.

2...Say "What does despatched mean?"

Hi,

De(i) patch means send off very often in a postal connection. If you order something on the internet, you receive a note saying something like: Your order has been de(i)spatched, and this means what you have ordered has now be sent off and is coming to you.
