'Return' can be used in the sense of 'profit' meaning the income from money invested:

Does the savings bank give you a good return on capital?

Hello Sonia,

'supports' is incorrect, but the author probably intended you to think about support as encouragement or giving help:
http://www.oxfordadvancedlearnersdictionary.com/dictionary/support

For example,

I am willing to support you (give you help) in learning the meanings of words.
As part of that support I am trying to encourage you to use a Learners' Dictionary.
