Dear Teachers, What does "racy" mean in "Smoking was seen as racy and daring by the 'Bright Young Things' of the 1920s." ?

We haven't come such a long way, after all! 'Racy' in your sentence means 'daringly amusing', 'mildly indecent or shocking', 'sexy'.
