I absolutely forgot that today is Halloween. What do you know about it? Any legends? I myself associate it with the legend about Jack- o' Lantern. What other legend do you know if there is any. Share your knowledge with me.

Hi,Pamela!

I don't know anything about Halloween ,else the people who wear scary faces and walk in the night outdoor....
but I do surf at internet and I find these information:

____________

Halloween is the modern name for Samhain, an ancient Celtic holy day which many Neopagans — especially Wiccans, Druids and Celtic Reconstructionists — celebrate as a spiritual beginning of a new year.
and is a time to confront our personal and cultural attitudes towards death and those who have passed on before us.

Halloween is a time to lift the veil between the many material and spiritual worlds in divination, so as to gain spiritual insight about our pasts and futures.

Halloween is a time to deepen our connection to the cycles of the seasons, to the generations that have come before us and those that will follow, and to the Gods and Goddesses we worship.

Halloween is a time to let our inner children out to play, to pass on our childhood traditions to our children, and to share the fun with our friends and neighbors of many other faiths. So…

would you give me legends about it?

Please....Pamela :D

P.S in my country we don't celebrate in this holiday.

Mba

Hi!
Well, celebrating Halloween has nothing to do with Bulgarian traditions... :D Nevertheless many people here celebrate the festival and we even had a Halloween party at school :D

PS Sorry, but I don't know any interesting legends about it

Hi Mba

Halloween is not celebrated in our country either. But it’s part of the university programme for students of foreign languages faculty who are obliged to arrange some sort of performance.

Happy Halloween again! #7 (permalink) Thu Oct 30, 2008 23:14 pm   Happy Halloween again!

Happy Halloween!
....... .......

We're about 6 hours away from Halloween 2008 here on the East Coast of the US. The Halloween parties have already begun. Lots of moms are frantically getting the kids' Halloween costumes ready for tomorrow evening's round of trick-or-treating.

What happens in the UK on Halloween?
