Hi Bichlien,

There is no such word as 'alot' in standard English. You need to write 'a lot'.

Shouldn't it be "... so they sent her to the famous..."? "And" doesn't flow well.

Either is acceptable, so again this seems quite a trivial criticism of the question, but having said that, I agree that 'so' would link the two phrases better.

I have read your explanation about applying of END & FINISH. It was useful, but there is a confusing thing; because,
You have written
“Note that 'finish' can be followed by an – ing form
[But 'end' is not followed by an –ing form].”

And in the test we see:

7- After the children had ......... doing their homework, the whole family watched television.
Correct answer: (d) finished

But in other question we see:

6-He thought they would all share the cost of the meal but unfortunately he ......... up paying for everybody.
Correct answer: ended

Could you explain why in the last question “ing-form” of pay has been used?
