GMAT Prep Course Is it worth all that money? #1 (permalink) Fri Nov 03, 2006 1:06 am   GMAT Prep Course Is it worth all that money?

Hello everyone,

Should I pay $549 for a GMAT Prep course? I admit I like the classroom study as oppose to studying on my own. But will a good prep course make that much of a difference? I'm very strong in English but I get turned around easy with tricky math questions. Thanks!

if you're preparing for the GMAT (I hope you're talking about the one required for most business schools), do three things:

1) Take the tests on this site until you've mastered them. Except I think that they use MLA guidelines, so "everybody" can only be linked with singular pronouns (he, she, his, her). (inside joke, but true in this case)

2) Get out your old math books -- Geometry, Analytical Geometry, Trigonometry, Algebra, Calculus -- and study. You'll be surprised how much you can forget the things you once mastered.

3) Write essays. Bubbles (think that's right) posed an essay topic in another thread on this site. Find it and answer it -- this is a great opportunity to practice.

Easy-To-Remember Guide For Writing Essays:

Step 1: Tell 'em what you're gonna tell 'em (introduction)
Step 2: Tell 'em (body)
Step 3: Tell 'em what you told 'em (conclusion)
