why I can't use admit?

Admit very often has the meaning of let in/allow in. In a sentence like this you can see its use: They don't admit children under the age of 5 into this playground. From the verb we also get the noun admission. This is used in: admission charges/fees, cost of admission to a museum, exhibition.
