Hello,

I am looking for someone who can proofread my English
peper. I think there might be some quality teachers there.
To tell you the truth, it is difficult to find a quality teacher here in Japan because it is very easy to be an English teaher here. So most of English teachers here is just people who happened to be born in English speaking countries but nothing else. Those who cannot find any decent job in their home countries end up coming to Japan to be English teachers.
Of course, there must be some who are excellent but
I don't know how to reach them.

For proofrading, he/she doesn't need to live in Japan.
So I think it must be a good idea for me to look for a teacher outside of Japan. Do you have any better advice or any contact which might be helpful?

Thanks!
Phoo

Hi Amy, I didn't mean to insult any individual but just to be honest to the trend of English
teachers reality in Japan. And it is not just them to be blamed.

My English paper is short, 2 or 3 pages. (A4)
I write constantly 3 or 4 papers, 2-3pages long each.
So I need to be proofread for my study.
I am ready to pay for that but just cannot find a appropriate person with appropriate price.

Could you do it for me??

Hi Phoo,

There are many qualified proofreaders who advertise their services online. Have you tried Google?

Hi Mallory,

Many thanks for joining our forum and offering your proofreading services. It's great to have a professional like you on board. As for contacting options, you might want to remove your email address because there are so called "email bots" -- programs that "crawl" websites and harvest email addresses to add them to their spam mail lists. This means you soon might receive a lot of spam.

If somebody wants to contact you here on the forum, they can do so via "private message" and you can then decide whether or not you want to give them your email address.

Regards,
Torsten

Hi all

This bot got me not so long ago, pesky technology.

Anyway I also can provide such proofreading services and it is what my company does. We have been in the business awhile but I wont give the web address here as I do not wish to advertise.

Check my profile or pm me.

Hi sun97kr,

This simply means that the person you want to send your private message to hasn't picked it up yet. Your message sits in the "outbox" until the addressee reads it.

By the way, what have you been studying?
