The best way to learn a language is to communicate with others who speak a different language...For the people who cannot afford travelling , the best way is to listen to news ,movies and cartoons.

Hi Alan,

Could you explain, please what exactly do you mean by saying : "Pity though the poor people who call a call centre!"
I am considering to apply for this type of job. Any opinion is valuable for me at the moment.

Hi Alan,
here is the link:

P.S I find it really hard to navigate in the "maze" of the forum but I also think it is due to being a new member and it will subside as soon as I get used to it.

Hi Mejcej,

If you are looking for a post that contains a particular word or phase, you can use the search function of the forum:

Other than that I'm quite sure that you soon will be able to navigate through the forum pretty fast.
Let me know what you think.

Thanks Torsten,

What if I want to see whether there has been any replays to my comments and I forgot or just don't remember where I had posted them?

This thread has lost it?s track a bit.

The secret to success I think is to have an idividualised learning plan. Being aware what works for you (how you learn). My best students and German colleagues immerse themselves in English. You can do this by moving to a native speaking country or by making lifesytle choices like doing the things you are interested in English. Why watch a film in your own language? Why read a book in your own language? Why chat only in your own language? Why play on-line games in your own language? Why write only to native speaking friends? Wghy have a PC or lapop in your own language? Why go out only with native speaking friends?

But the best trick I think is to just leap into love with a native speaker. Then you have the best of both worlds and the most luscious motivation. Laughing
