Hi All,

This is my sentence:

Spam mails are a great problem not only for us but all other companies in the world.

1. Is this OK or should I write Spam mails is a great problem ...
2. Can I omit the word for the second time or should I use it 2 times?
e.g. not only for us but for all other ...

Thanks,
Attila

.
'Spam mail is'
'Spam mails are'

Both seem acceptable these days. I'd keep the second 'for' for clarity.

Hi Attila, isn't it great to have friends like Mister Micawber and Amy? In addition to MM's suggestion you could also write 'email spam is a great problem'.

What do you think?

Thanks,
Torsten

Attila ... I would suggest 'Spam mail is' when referring to the phenomenon as a problem, but 'spam mails' when referring to a specific group of e-mails.

'Spam mail is the scourge of internet communication' vs. 'These spam mails (or e-mails) are driving me crazy today'
