"Here are some ... to set the stage"

The above sentence comes from a multiple choice task presented in Fast Track to CAE, the correct answer in the the task is method not way. I wonder why. To my mind, method is a carefully planned way, so why is way wrong? I googled "here are some ways to set the stage' and "here are some methods to set the stage" The former expression seems to be more often used.

Hi Twin,

I tend to agree with you. I think I would probably say either: Ways of setting the stage or Methods used in setting the stage.
