Hi teachers,

In my country, if a man want to marry a woman, he have to ask for permission from the woman's parents in order to have a legal marriage.

My question is what is the exact word or phrase that we can use to mean that kind of activity?

Thanks in advance

Hi

Last year I asked the question, and my tutor said 'parents’ permission'/'parental permission' or 'parents' blessing'.

For more 'wedding' (/engagement) vocabulary: http://weddings.about.com/od/gettingstarted/a/askingparents.htm
