Hello there

The sentence appears correct but incomplete.

"There simply must be specialists (for something or other) nowadays" seems more complete to me. Could it be that there were more words before and after that you left out?

Hi Alex

there is/are
there was/were
there has/have been
there had been
there will be
there is/are going to be
there was/were going to be
there may/might be
there ought to be
there would/could/should be
there would/could/should have been
there has/have to be
there had to be
there must be
etc.

In short: all of the above are various ways to use there + be. You just follow the usual rules for tense formation and/or modal usage.
