"example" + proposition + related subject #1 (permalink) Fri Dec 01, 2006 13:01 pm   "example" + proposition + related subject

Hi There,

1) how can the form "example +proposition + related subject " correctly be used in the written language?

I mean:

"One good example (about/of) why we need an higher level of education is..."

"An example about how animals survive in hostile environments is ..."

2) it is correct to write "let us make an example about it" (for instance in the anayltical writing section of the GRE)? or better to avoid such too direct approach?

Many thanks, Alex

use "of" instead of "about"

as in, "let us make an example of it"
