Hi teachers,

Please see the following:

Below is a description of some crafts and textiles in which Asian woman are involved. Also included with some are "how-to-make" instructions.

My question: Can I omit the highlighted verb "are"?

Thanks in advance

Hi,

In a word 'no'. It would be better to write: There are also 'how-to-make' instructions included with some (of them).

Hi teacher,

Thanks for that, but I don't know why the sentence should be inverted?

Can I say "With some of them are included "how-to-make" instructions?

Thanks in advance

Hi Jupiter,

The sentence I suggested is probably a better choice. Your latest suggestion:

Quote:
With some of them are included "how-to-make" instructions.

is all right but the balance is a bit top heavy - in other words there seem to be too many words before you get to the subject - instructions.
