Alan,
You made me stop and think for a while. I really can't remember when was it last when I sat and wrote a 'real' letter. Not that I'm saying that emails are unreal, but we have to admit that they belong to virtual reality... I send emails only in two occasions: to business associates and to friends (with the latter only to exchange those funny stories, pictures etc., but only decent and really funny ones). And, as for your question about 'emailery', maybe the solution can be ecorrespondence?! A little awkward to pronounce, but, who cares, we will type it anyway!

Hi Mba It occurred to me that eCorrespondence stands for electronic correspondence (as in e-book). |

Hi Alan:)
I think I use e-mails most because of my friends are away of me:( and I have a lot of friends who are far away, in other countries for getting education. So, I write lots of e-mails them. And I like writing e-mails, I have ability somehow to describe things, and also to tell an event that have happend to me like a story. That's why my e-mails look like short stories:) In fact, e-mails are the most used means of communication to me, as I don't like talking on phone-boring thing for me :)
As for the Alan's story, hmmm I guess e-mails destroy all the pleasure of reading famous persons' handwritings, for we can't find their passwords and read e-mails.When they pass from life, how we can read their letters, if they haven't written letters or recieved them??? And we share our feelings by writing e-mails to our friends, lovers,relatives.. then we sometimes delete them. What'll happen if we want to read them again in order to feel the same feelings again, how can we find them? It's great pleasure to read old letters and also our notes that we took in the past, for example, in our childhood, yes? Yes, I always become very happy when I find some notes of mine, or my grandma letters, or mom and dad's letters..What will happen if we won't save our letters-mails..no pleasure to find old letters, no pleasure of reading them...in the future..seems fearful. And I guess this is the bad side of e-mails(as all new technology) Okay, let's then take copies of really important mails for us, then we can read them when we need to feel the same:) oh I think I've solved worldwide important problem:) Never lose your hope!!! _________________ Either nothing is truth, or the truth is unknown to us...

Kudos, Ralf. Love that Irish lilt. And that last little bit (about where to click) was certainly a creative little addition. . . Why not also add a little notation for ESLers letting them know what sort of accent they're listening to? Just a suggestion. . _________________ "Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man's character, give him power." ~ Abraham Lincoln |
