Hi, I've just come across a website that looks quite professional but the following sentence souds odd to me. Something seems to be wrong with subject/verb agreement:

Online profiles and social networking engages your audience, creating the active ingredients in any online community.

What do you think?

Hi,

I would, as they say, feel more comfortable with the plural 'engage' I imagine that the writer has lumped together 'profiles and social networking' as one idea, whatever that is they mean/it means!
