Hello,
In this case, 'settle down' refers to 'calming down' and starting a family. Similarly, 'settle down' is also used to when referring to a child who is misbehaving or too active in a situation. You could say, "Settle down!" and that simply means to calm down - to become more stable and not so hyper or active.
